Posted by: | Commentshosting wordpress Question: How do I change where my domain points using Yahoo Web Hosting?
I am using Yahoo Web Hosting for my domain and hosting my site. I have a site published using site builder. I added a wordpress blog with the domain www.example.com/blog.
I now want to have my site as a WordPress blog only but I want my domain www.example.com to point to the BLOG homepage.
HOW do I do that please???
Thank you!

Karen, the only time our system will automatically set your blog as your home page is during the initial installation. Setting your blog as your home page after the initial installation is a bit trickier, but it is something we can help you with. Please contact us at http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/contactus and we can help you make that change.
How to get WordPress Blog into a separate URL?
Posted by: | Commentshosting wordpress Question: How to get WordPress Blog into a separate URL?
I want to have 2 or 3 different wordpress based blogs hosted under one account. I already have several domain names and a host and have already installed WP blogs into separate folders through FTP.
But, what I need to know how to have the domain URL point straight to the blog without having to move files into the root directory. If domain name is 123blog.com, i want it to go straight to the Blog instead of having 123blog.com/blog/ in the URL.

To do what your saying you will need to use the .htaccess file on your apache webserver.
Take a look at the article on .htaccess i provided below. On top of that you want to do a redirect from a directory. Your rewrite rule then would be something like
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)(/)?$ /blogs/index.php?var=$ 1 [NC]
replace var with whatever info wordpress uses. You could also try the built URL rewriter that is used by wordpress. Though I believe you will still have to use an .htaccess file in your website root directory to get past the isssue. best of luck.
www.bluehost.com – use Bluehost as your hosting for very easy wordpress installation. If you signup here you’ll also get Google adwords credit & yahoo search marketing.

Go into the dashboard for that blog, click Appearance, then Themes. From there you can upload the template file, then activate it. It’s pretty easy.
