Webhosting Review - Hostgator

“DON’T Buy Another Webhosting Package Until You Read This Important Confession Of An Internet Junkie”

Dear Friend

I’m NOT kidding when I tell you that I’m really sceptical of most webhosting companies. In my 5 years of being online, I’ve probably tested and used over a dozen webhosts. Most fall short of my expectations.

But on the other hand, I’m not that demanding. I’m just looking for a reliable and friendly webhosting company. I’m not sure if you’ll agree with me on this or not, but here are the things that I would look for when selecting my hosting company:

  • Reliable - at least 99.9% uptime. Nothing is worse than your website being down and you can’t access it!
  • Fast Support - I’m sure you have the feeling that when you want something done, you want it done NOW. Not 24-48 hours later. The company that I’m using has LIVE CHAT Support!
  • Friendly Support - I’m not tech savy. So if there’s anything to be done, please communicate in plain English language, and don’t get angry with me for being a tech idiot.
  • Price - Affordable! No I don’t go for cheap stuff (that’s the biggest mistake one can make). I go for Value For Money packages!

After all these years, there’s one company which I’ve hosted with and still continue hosting with them….

“Yes, It’s HostGator!”

Hands down that they’ve been the best web host for me without a doubt.

In fact, I’ve been recommending Hostgator to my closest associates and friends nowadays. Oh…and I have a secret…

When you order your hostgator account, do use this coupon code: iceishot (That’s one free month of hosting)

BlueHost is another company that fits these. I’ve used them over the course of two years now and they’ve been utterly fantastic. They’re always adding disk space and bandwidth for new users and even the existing accounts - we’re up to 300GB of disk space and 4TB of bandwidth a month - and the price has remained steady at around $7 a month, with a discount for a year (you can still cancel at any time, though and whatever you didn’t use will be credited back to your card).

The servers have gone down maybe once in the entire two years unscheduled and they were brought back up in a matter of minutes.

As for support, they also have live chat, email, a forum, and a ticket systems - so there are multiple ways to get in contact with them. They have servers for just about every server configuration - if you need PHP5 and MySQL 5, they’ll move you for free - or even if you need just PHP5 or MySQL 5 with a different mix of software, they always seem to have a server that’s setup that way.
